The excitement is building all over the city in anticipation of the Endeavour Space Shuttle’s arrival to be put on a permanent display at California Science Center, but it seems the historic shuttle’s journey has been delayed one more day due to bad weather.
Thunderstorms along the shuttle’s flight path have postponed the journey by a day in favor of better weather, reports CBS LA. The Endeavour is now expected to depart from Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday morning and arrive in L.A. Friday, just one day after its original arrival date for Thursday.
The Endeavour will be flown in “piggyback” on a Boeing 747 and is expected to fly over several L.A. sites and landmarks before touching down.
The shuttle will then be welcomed to its new home at the Science Center in a two-day, 12-mile “parade” route on the streets. It will be on display in the Science Center exhibit beginning Oct. 30.
