The world has become a much more vegetarian-friendly place these days with a majority of restaurants offering meatless and vegan options to the menu so as to not exclude its vegetarian customers.
One SoCal fast food stop hasn’t jumped on the veggie bandwagon officially yet, but one patron is petitioning for change at popular burger joint In-N-Out to offer a veggie-friendly menu item.
Ari Solomon has started a petition on Change.org to have In-N-Out start offering a veggie burger for vegetarians who are hankering for all the specialties off the menu, but in a meatless option. The petition comes in response to the recent discovery of In-N-Out beef supplier was abusing their livestock, reports Huffington Post.
The petition reads:
In-N-Out did the right thing and said they would no longer buy from this supplier, but it’s the 21st century and I think it’s high time they offer a veggie burger option for customers who don’t want to eat animals or just want a little diversity with an environmentally-friendly, healthier option once in a while.
I know In-N-Out prides itself on being ahead of the other fast food outlets, so how amazing would it be if vegans and vegetarians from students to A-list celebs and everyone in between could go enjoy a burger?
One could argue that if vegetarians are really craving for some In-N-Out that they can order the meatless “grilled cheese sandwich” from the restaurant’s not-so-secret menu. It comes with the same toppings as a regular burger, just without the beef patty – and you can make it “animal style.”
So what do you think…Should In-N-Out revamp its simple menu choices to include a veggie burger?
