Your ‘Tickets @2′ song of the day is by former New York Policeman Eddie Money, it’s “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Money quit his job in law enforcement to pursue a career in music.
He moved west to Berkely where he gigged in clubs around the bay area where he was discovered by Columbia Records and signed to a recording contract.
Money wrote the song about his girlfriend at the time. His girlfriend’s mother wanted her to marry a doctor or a lawyer, not a singer/musician. Eddie wrote it as a plea to take her away.
When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #10 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win ‘two tickets’ to see “Total Recall” courtesy of Regal Entertainment Group.
