Note to baseball sound operators: Umps really don’t like it when you mock their calls over the loud speaker.

One PA operator learned the hard way during a minor league Cubs game on Wednesday that you do not test the patience of an umpire.

After Daytona Cubs’ umpire Mario Seneca made a questionable call in the game, the sound operator Derek Dye started playing the children’s rhyme “Three Blind Mice.”

Picking up on the tune, Seneca became irate and turned up to the PA box and gave his next call directed to Dye: “You’re done! Turn the sound off the rest of the night!,” reports Sporting News.

With no more sound the rest of the night, a fan took over announcing each player as they came up to bat, according to the Cubs’ Facebook page.

To Dye’s defense, he could have just been playing “Hot Cross Buns,” not “Three Blind Mice.”

Watch the ump eject Dye from the game in the video below!
