Dubbed the “flying squirrel,” the newest American hero of the Olympics is gymnast Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas, who is turning heads not only with her incredible talent in the games, but also her charming smile and personality.
After winning the Gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around on Thursday, 16-year-old Gabby cemented her place in Olympic history as the first woman to win Gold in both the team and individual all-around events, and the first African-American to win Gold in the all-around.
Her accomplishments have even earned her a spot as the newest Olympian to grace the cover of Kellogg’s cereal boxes and has launched her into super stardom. She’s expected to make millions in endorsements following the games.
