Carly Simon is back on ‘Tickets @ 2′ with “You’re So Vain.”

The song was written and performed by Carly and released in December of 1972. The song is a very critical profile of a self absorbed lover.

In 1983, she told the Washington Post that it’s not about Mick Jagger, who contributed uncredited backing vocals on the song, even though Jagger for a time was obsessed with her.

In a 1989 interview, Simon acknowledged that the song is a little bit about Warren Beatty but added the song is a composite of three men from her L.A. days. In a 2007 interview, Beatty said, “Let’s be honest. That song is about me!”

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #10at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see Pacific Symphony’s Beethoven’s Greatest Hits Sunday August 12th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
