This morning, the big release of the third movie of Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises, was sobered by the news of a tragic shooting that took place at a midnight showing in a theater in Aurora, Colorado.

CBS Denver reports, “Police said a gunman with a gas mask on and dressed in black shot and killed dozens and dozens of people. Authorities say the suspect, James Holmes, 24, killed 10 people inside the theater complex and that three others died after they were taken from the scene.”

In light of this sad news, many are wondering how the Dark Knight Rises will fare in theaters, and Mr. Moviefone gave us his take on the questions we’re all wondering.

Will people still go out to see the Dark Knight Rises  this weekend? Plus this event makes us wonder, does violence in movies and video games have an affect on viewers?

Mr. Moviefone covers the latest on this tragic event and answers all these questions and more in our interview below.
