Actress and friend of the Morning Show, Mariette Hartley has a brand new project coming to town for a limited time!
Mariette will be the guest actress in the play Grace Notes And Anvils from July 20-22 at the Odyssey Theatre.
The play touches on the various experiences of grieving stages and shows guests how to deal with loss, which has a very personal connection to Mariette considering her work with suicide prevention and survivors.
“This isn’t just about suicide, this is simply about dealing with loss. It’s an amazing play. It’s really important,” says Mariette. It’s funny, it’s very enlightening, it kind of shows people what many people have already gone through, which is what people say because they don’t know what else to say.”
Mariette is the co-founder and national spokesperson for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and has facilitated survivor groups in Los Angeles for many years. In 2010, Mariette received the Personal Legacy Award from the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.
“I’m very proud of it and I hope it goes somewhere,” said Mariette. “I’d love to see people there and not to be afraid of the subject…Americans don’t know how to grieve.”
