Did You Know: “You’re So Vain” By Carly Simon

On ‘Tickets @2’ the birthday girl is back, Carly Simon with “You’re So Vain.” Carly celebrates her birthday on this 25th day of June.

The person in the song that she’s singing about has been the subject of much speculation over the years, everyone from Warren Beatty, Kris Kristofferson, Cat Stevens, and Mick Jagger, all of whom she had affairs with.

Simon started recording this with Harry Nilsson singing backup, but Jagger ended up singing on it instead (listen for him on the “don’t you” parts), although he is not credited on the album.

By the way out money is on Warren Beatty as the subject of the song.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #16 at 1-800-232-KRTH(5784) to win a pair of tickets to see “Grease Sing-A-Long” Saturday, July 14th at the Hollywood Bowl.
