Cast members Lee Ferris (Carl Perkins), Cody Slaughter (Elvis Presley), Martin Kaye (Jerry Lee Lewis) and Derek Keeling (Johnny Cash) joined The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show in studio this morning to give a little live preview of this award-winning musical.

The musical tells the tale of the four founding fathers of rock and roll getting together with the help of Sam Philips for the first and only time at Sun Records in Memphis on December 4, 1956. The result was a masterpiece jam session that has been regarded as one of greatest recordings in rock history.

The Million Dollar Quartet not only are the spitting images of their musical counterparts, but also prove that they can sing and play  just like the real deal.

The show features an incredible selection of songs recorded on that historic night including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “That’s Alright.”

Million Dollar Quartet premieres in L.A. for a limited two-week run at the Pantages Theatre from June 19 – July 1. Get your tickets at www.BroadwayLA.org or by phone at 1-800-982-2787.

In addition to the premiere, the cast will perform a preview performance at Hard Rock Cafe at Hollywood & Highland prior to their performance at The Pantages Theater on Thursday, June 21 beginning at 5 PM. Guests who took advantage of purchasing the “Million Dollar Meal Deal” package will enjoy dinner and the private performance set at Hard Rock Cafe along with their full price ticket purchase for Million Dollar Quartet at the Pantages at 8pm that evening.

In our two-part interview below, you can listen to the cast sing and play bits of songs “Down By The Riverside,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and  “That’s Alright” and hear more about the show!
