Reuniting after some 43 years for their first new album since 1969’s Good Morning Starshine, current members L.A.’s own psychedelic group Strawberry Alarm Clock will be making their first ever appearance at one of the Sunset Strip’s legendary music venues in July.

Group members Randy Seol, Mark Weitz, Howie Anderson and George Bunnell called in this morning to talk about the release of their new album Wake Up Where You Are (It’s About Time) and taking the stage at the Whiskey A Go Go on July 19th.

“That’s going to be a fun gig for us. It’s been like 42 years since we played on the Sunset Strip,” said the band.

For Strawberry Alarm Clock, playing the Whiskey has been 43 years in the making and is the place for L.A.’s hottest acts to perform.  It’s somewhat of a right of passage for local L.A. bands to play there with numerous iconic acts having emerged after playing at the Whiskey including The Doors, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and many more.

In addition to their upcoming gig at the Whiskey, Strawberry Alarm Clock has also agreed to perform as part of The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show’s 10th Anniversary celebration at Gladstones in Malibu on July 13th!

Tickets for SAC’s show at the Whiskey are available now on whiskyagogo.com and the band’s new album Wake Up Where You Are (It’s About Time) is available on Amazon.com.

Gary Bryan talks to SAC members in the interview below about the new album, tour, and a funny story about being the first musical group to appear on the first episode of Laugh In. Listen below!
