Street Closures Could Cause Traffic Delays During President Obama’s Los Angeles Visit
President Barack Obama is making another trip to Los Angeles this evening for a huge fundraising event with Hollywood elite hosted at George Clooney’s mansion near Fryman Canyon in Studio City.
This of course means street closures and traffic delays for commuters during rush hour. Know which areas to avoid on your drive home so you don’t get held up in presidential traffic congestion!
The President is expected to arrive at LAX around 6 p.m., but street closures on Ventura Boulevard will begin as early as 5 p.m. Drivers can also expect road closures up and down Laurel Canyon and on some residential streets through Studio City between 5-8 p.m.
“Local access to the area will be virtually sealed off from about 8-10 p.m. All local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access,” says Councilman Paul Krekorian according to CBS LA.
The President will stay overnight in Beverly Hills following the major fundraising event. Hollywood’s A-list celebs and executives are expected to be in attendance for the event that costs around $40,000 per plate and will add an estimated $15 million towards his re-election campaign.
