If you like art, wine, and supporting a great cause, have I got a fundraiser for YOU! And, it’s on St. Paddy’s Day so you can celebrate the green, too!

Have you ever heard of Comprehensive Child Development (CCD)? They provide services to families with young kids ages 4 months to Kindergarten in the Long Beach, San Pedro and Wilmington areas. A few of the services they provide are care and education for children whose parents work or are in job training; to work with parents to provide the best possible care for their children in our program as well as maintaining a nurturing environment; and to promote and support high quality nutrition programs for young children and their care providers.

Sounds super doesn’t it? To keep up their good work they’re throwing a big ‘Arty” on Saturday, March 17th, and they’re calling it “Art of All Ages.” Some wonderful local artists have donated works to be auctioned off. And some of the kids from CCD have also put some of their art up for bid!

Times are tough and non-profits like CCD need help to assist the over 500 children they educate each day at their centers. To learn more about the event and get tickets visit ccdlb.org.

It’s so sad that there’s even a need for this. Used to be at least one parent was at home nurturing and caring for their children…
That being said, this sounds like a wonderful way to help out.

So I’m trying again.
It’s sad that an event like this has to happen. There was a time at least one parent took care of their kids… That being said, it does sound like a very cool way to help out.
I’ll see if my wife and I can get some other friends to go with us.

What a great set of resources for families in the Southern California region to use. I was checking out those websites and was amazed at the fact that even “low income families” and even families or individuals going back to school to learn a trade or further their education are also included. I’m sure there are programs in Canada that provide for “low income families as well”.

I think those types of programs are “needed” and if the government can help with that, all the better for the families and everyone involved. Great news for those who need it even though “yes” it is sad that it exists; at least one knows it’s there when needed. I guess there are many low income families in Southern California too as there are in Southern Ontario.
