Poll: Steven Tyler Sings The National Anthem — Was It Good Or Bad?

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Steven Tyler[/lastfm] is creating quite the controversy over his pitchy, screeching rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” before the playoff game between New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Self-declared on his Twitter as the “demon of screamin’,” he sounded pretty much just like you’d expect Steven Tyler to sound like, so we want to know, was Tyler’s version of the National Anthem really that bad?

Besides a minor flub of the lyrics singing “as bomb bursting in air” instead of “the bombs bursting in air” and “oh the land of the free” instead of “o’er the land of the free,” Tyler’s performance wasn’t anything surprising.

Watch his performance below and tell us what you thought!

BAD…He’s a singer …thank goodness he has a band to make him more appealing! Roseanne did better!

I think he sound like he butchered it i could have done a better job singing it they should have pick a better singer to sing it.

  • Shirley

Yes, Steven Tyler was bad. But he WAS Steven Tyler. He sang the National Anthem just the way I would expect him too so I will still give him a Thumbs UP!

  • Dave

The National Anthem should be sung with R-E-S-P-E-C-T. If Steven Tyler could not do better then he should have not sung it at all. This was BAD. Bad as in awful! It was screeching at it’s worse.
