[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Steven Tyler[/lastfm] is creating quite the controversy over his pitchy, screeching rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” before the playoff game between New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Self-declared on his Twitter as the “demon of screamin’,” he sounded pretty much just like you’d expect Steven Tyler to sound like, so we want to know, was Tyler’s version of the National Anthem really that bad?

Besides a minor flub of the lyrics singing “as bomb bursting in air” instead of “the bombs bursting in air” and “oh the land of the free” instead of “o’er the land of the free,” Tyler’s performance wasn’t anything surprising.

Watch his performance below and tell us what you thought!
