Video: The Sinatra Family Lights Capitol Records’ Rooftop Christmas Tree In Hollywood

There’s a Christmas tree lighting ceremony which takes place every year many don’t know about, unless you live in Los Angeles.  It’s the lighting of Capitol Records’ Rooftop Christmas Tree in Hollywood, which was switched on last week by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frank Sinatra[/lastfm]”s daughters.

In celebration of the release on November 15th of a brand new hits album entitled Sinatra: Best of the Best, which is the first compilation of the singer’s top songs while on both Capitol Records and his own Reprise Records, Sinatra’s daughters Nancy and Tina joined the three generations of the Sinatra Family to switch on the Christmas Tree on top of the iconic Capitol Records Building on Vine Street in Hollywood.

The lighting of the lights in the shape of a tree on the roof of the Capitol Records building signals the start of the holiday season in Hollywood, a tradition which started in 1958.

SOOOOO awesome. Frank Sinatra is part of my personal heritage. My parents loved him and we owned (and played) every single one of his albums, yes ALBUMS my entire life.

What a Capitol idea to do that!
