The ‘Tickets @ 2′ hit of the day is by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bananarama[/lastfm], it’s “Cruel Summer.”

The girl trio from the UK explained, “The singer finds herself alone in a hot city, as her boyfriend has left. For her it’s a cruel summer.”

The song did well when it was released in England in 1983, but it wasn’t a hit here in the US until 1984, when it was used in the movie The Karate Kid.

We’ll take caller # 10 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) when it plays between two and three for a pair of tickets to see Pacific Symphony’s Tribute to Paul McCartney and the American Hero at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts!

Yes I remember this song quite well. Who else remember’s, “Na Na Na Na, Hey He Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” or “Shy Boy”. Now there’s a song that would fit me perfectly years ago.
