Former Beatle [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] and New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell are officially husband and wife after wedding in a beautiful ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall on Sunday, the same venue where Paul married his first wife, Linda.
This is Paul’s third marriage after dating Nancy since 2007, and many celebrity guests were in attendance to cheer on the newlyweds in a low-key, yet lovely ceremony.
Guests in attendance at the ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall, which was opened especially for this ceremony, included Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, George Harrison’s widow, Olivia, Nancy’s college-age son, Arlen, her cousin Barbara Walters, McCartney’s brother Mike and many more.
Paul’s youngest daughter Beatrice, 7, served as the flower girl as Nancy, 51, walked down the aisle in a long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress and shoes with a matching white flower in her hair designed by her new stepdaughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney, who also made her father’s navy blue suit.
After making their way out on the steps of the town hall, they were greeted with cheers from hundreds of fans as their guests showered them with pink rose petals as Paul, holding hands with Nancy, told the crowd “It was terrific – thank you!” and joke that he felt “married.”
The celebration continued as Paul’s house where guests feasted on vegetarian dishes like arugula and basil salad, goat cheese polenta, savory tarts, dumplings and two wedding cakes — one traditional and one sticking true to Paul’s vegan lifestyle — both baked by Posh Puds Patisserie.
The couple is expected to have another celebration in the states later in the month. See photos from the ceremony in the gallery! Congrats to the newlyweds!
