“The New York Post” says Sly Stone, from Sly And The Family Stone is now homeless, and living in a small van in Los Angeles. He admits he’s having financial problems, which he says is because manager Jerry Goldstein is ripping him off.
He claims Goldstein has shorted him on royalty payments for the past 20 years, and hasn’t paid him at all since 2009. Last year Stone filed a 50-million-dollar lawsuit over the matter. But Stone also admits his years of substance abuse ate into his fortune, and that he hasn’t always made the best financial decisions. He also says he likes his camper.
He explains that he doesn’t want to “return to a fixed home,” that he “cannot stand being in one place,” and that he “must keep moving.” Stone adds that he has lots of new material which he’s very excited about, but his mistrust of managers and record companies has kept him from making deals to release his music.
**Here’s a little known fact, in 1984 Sly sold the rights to his music to Michael Jackson for 1 million dollars!
