As your making your Labor Day weekend plans, there’s plenty of fairs, events and activities for the whole family to enjoy the long weekend! Check out some of the area activities to take your mind off work and relax!

Los Angeles County Fair
Opening Weekend: Saturday September 3 – Monday, September 5
Fair continues Wednesdays – Sundays through October 2
The Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave, Pomona
The LA County Fair kicks off Labor Day weekend and runs for a full month. Live music, rides, livestock, gardening and contests. Follow the link to special admission days & discounts.

Free Day at LACMA
Monday, September 5, Noon – 8 pm
Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles
FREE, Tickets Required

Join us for a free day at the museum (all day) and enjoy a live performance. General admission to the permanent galleries and non-ticketed exhibitions is free to all. Does not include free admission to the Tim Burton exhibition or any specially ticketed exhibitions.

International Street Fair
Friday – Sunday, Monday, September 2 – 4

Every Labor Day weekend for the past three decades, the Orange International Street FairSM (OISF) in downtown Orange has been the place where friends, families and neighbors get together to experience a wide variety of food, music and dance from cultures and ethnicities throughout the world.

Fiesta Hermosa
Saturday – Monday, September 3 – 5

For the past 39 years, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce has produced Fiesta Hermosa, the “largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California”. Over 270 artists and crafters are featured, including painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, and handicrafters.

The Taste: LA Times Food & Wine

From Rodeo Drive to The Studios at Paramount to Downtown L.A., The Taste is a four-day food and wine extravaganza, celebrating all things epicurean. This unprecedented event will showcase a star-studded cast of celebrity chefs at nine signature events over Labor Day weekend.

Long Beach Greek Festival
Saturday – Monday, September 3 – 5
Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 5761 East Colorado Street, Long Beach
Come enjoy this annual event the supports many programs in the community. Features Live Greek music by the Olympians, exhibit dancing and social dancing, Amazing Greek food and product booths and children’s area.

Griffith Observatory — All Space Considered

Griffith Observatory holds this exciting, FREE public program on the first Friday of every month in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon theater. Conquer the Bridge Labor Day Run
Monday, September 5, 8 am
Vincent Thomas Bridge, San Pedro
CONQUER THE BRIDGE is a 5.3 Mile Race (according to GPS timing from last year’s race). Participants can either run or walk the event, or both. However, Caltrans requires that the Vincent Thomas Bridge must be re-opened no later than 11:00 am. Accordingly, participants that are still on the Bridge at 10:30 am will be picked up by a van and taken down to Harbor Blvd. to finish the Race.

Audubon Bird Walk
Sunday, September 4, 7 am
