Peek, along with fellow band mates formed the group America in the late 60s with close friends Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell while still teenagers.  The group known for their harmonies released their first album in 1971.  They went on to have eight top 40 hits between 1971-1975.

In 1977, after being a Born-Again Christian, Peek left the group due to his dislike of all the travel and recreational drug use going on around him.  In 1979 he launched his solo career in Contemporary Christian music and had his first solo album “All Things Are Possible” reach number one on the Christian Contemporary Music chart and was also nominated for a GRAMMY Award.

There has been no cause yet of Peek’s death.  An autopsy to discover the cause of death has been scheduled.
