He was the creative genius that brought us the family friendly programs Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch, among many other TV hits, and it was just released that TV legend Sherwood Schwartz has passed away at the age of 94 earlier Tuesday morning.
Sherwood has lived a long, fruitful life and has touched many lives through his hit TV shows we love to watch over and over again. He has forever left a lasting impact on the entertainment world with his TV sitcoms and catchy theme songs of both Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch, and will be missed.
According to KTLA, Sherwood died of natural causes in his sleep around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning and was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
Sherwood has left a lasting legacy in the TV world with his best known work being the creator, producer and theme song co-writer of Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch. He won an Emmy for his work as a writer on The Red Skelton Show in 1961, and was immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.
