Did You Know: “Who’s Crying Now” By Journey
‘Tickets @ 2′ this week features tickets to see The 5 Browns at the Verizon Wireless Amphiteatre, five sibling who play classical music, and the song your listening for is by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Journey[/lastfm], it’s “Who’s Crying Now.”
This was the first Journey song to feature keyboardist/guitarist Jonathan Cain. He had been a member of the Baby’s before replacing long time keyboardist Gregg Rolie.
Steve Perry wrote the chorus while driving from Bakersfield to San Francisco, singing into a cassette recorder. He went to Cain’s house, rain pouring down in sheets outside, where they finished the song.
The # 4 charted hit is on Journey’s only # 1 album, ‘Escape.’ The album also contained 3 other hits: “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Stone In Love,” and “Open Arms.”
Cain and Neal Schon left the group in 1989 to join John Waite (also a former Baby’s member) in Bad English.
We’ll take caller # 14 to win The 5 Browns tickets when it plays between two and three, 1-800-232-KRTH (5784)
