As the long weekend approaches and you get ready to show off your patriotism for the country, there’s nothing better than kicking back on the couch in your down time and watching a few classic flicks that celebrate America!

From intense action war films to the feel-good nature of Forrest Gump, these are some of the best movies to re-watch over the 4th of July weekend!

Born On The Fourth Of July (1989) — Starring Tom Cruise in the biography of tormented Vietnam war vet Ron Kovic, this film depicted the aftermath of a war vet who felt betrayed by the country he fought for. Kovic became an anti-war and pro-human rights activist after being paralyzed in a war so many protested against, and shows the change of a nation.
