Former [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beatles[/lastfm] Bassist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] has a new album in mind. But this one won’t include any songs actually written by him. His plans are for a new album written exclusively by other artists.

All of the songs on the album will be songs he admires and describes the type of songs as music you listen to when you get home from work and pour yourself a glass of wine.
McCartney told Rolling Stone magazine, ever since his time in the Beatles, he’s wanted to do an album of “classic pop standards.” The idea for that album came to an end once Rod Steward launched his “American Songbook” series.
This album is going to consist of music not usually associated with him, hard rock. Recently, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dave Grohl[/lastfm] of the rock group [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Foo Fighters[/lastfm], met with McCartney and discussed how his new album was recorded in his garage. McCartney commented, “I may run into a garage to record this other album. But it won’t be in Dave’s garage.”
McCartney was also recently seen checking out bands which playing at Coachella in Indio a couple months ago.
