Win tickets to Legoland California with the new Star Wars themed ‘Mini-Land’ by calling in when you hear Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” on ‘Tickets @ 2.’ This song was inspired by Joel’s experiences playing at The Executive Room on Wilshire Boulevard here in L.A.

He worked there for 6 months in 1972 after his first solo album, Cold Spring Harbor, tanked. The characters in the song are based on real people Joel encountered while working at The Executive Room.

Joel played under the name Bill Martin, which explains why the patrons in the song call him Bill. Martin is his middle name.

We’ll take caller # 30 when it plays between two and three at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784)!
