Discover Kauai: Limahuli Garden and Preserve
Keep listening for the K-EARTH 101 jet to fly by to win TWO stays at the Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach on the east shore of Kauai. While on the island, there’s plenty of beauty to discover, including the Limahuli Garden and Preserve located on the north shore.
Limahuli, which means turning hands, recognizes the ancient Hawaiians who built up the important agriculture of the island, including taro. The beautiful botanical garden and nature preserve was dedicated to protect all of the native plants.
The grounds include a plantation-era garden and the limahuli stream, which is one of the last waterways left on the island.
It’s been said by many Limahuli has a strong spiritual power and has been known as one of the most beautiful spots in Kauai.
When visiting, you can either take a guided tour or go on your own. Be sure to take comfortable shoes!
