#1 – Andy Griffith Show

The Andy Griffith Show originally aired on CBS and had an estimated audience of 15,640,920 for the season.  The opening scene was shot locally at Franklin Canyon north of Beverly Hills and began airing in color in 1965.

#2 – The Lucy Show

Originally airing on CBS, The Lucy Show ran from 1962-1968.  In the 1965-66 season there was a major change in cast and premise of the show.  The show had an estimated audience of 15,300,900.

#6 – Bonanza

Bonanza ran for 14 seasons from 1959-1973 and had 431 episodes on NBC  and is the second longest running western series next to Gunsmoke.  This season the show also tied Family Affair and Gunsmoke with an estimated audience of 14,450,850.
