Visionary director Zack Snyder just scored the No. 2 weekend box office hit with his imaginative girl-powered quest Sucker Punch, and now he’s making even bigger news with his casting choice of the charming Amy Adams to play the Man of Steel’s love interest, Lois Lane.
She joins other heavy hitters including Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Kent’s adoptive parents in the new Superman movie out next year. But will Amy Adams make the best Lois Lane in the history of the franchise? You tell us!
About his casting choice of Adams for Lois Lane, Snyder told the L.A. Times, “It goes back to what I’ve said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance].”
The only thing left to cast is the film’s super villains, rumored to be trio of Zod, Ursa and Non who battled the hero in Superman II. The new Superman is set to hit theaters in December 2012, and with this all star cast, it’s bound to make a splash.
