[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lionel Richie[/lastfm]‘s “All Night Long ( All Night)” is our ‘Tickets @ 2′ song to listen for between two and three this afternoon.
Written by the man himself, this was Lionel Richie’s fourth solo single – the first a duet with Diana Ross. The song was performed at the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympics here in Los Angeles.
Lionel told CNN: “What I try to write about are real events. There will always be an easy like Sunday morning. There will always be an endless love. There will always be an all night long.”
He got the vibe for this song from his vacations in the Caribbean.
A young Richard Marx, before he found fame with his own hits such as “Right Here Waiting,” supplied backing vocals on the track.
It was a ‘home run’ # 1 hit, and it can get you into the movie “The Lincoln Lawyer” if your caller # 13 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784).
