Casey – “Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye: All the judges agreed that there’s no one else like Casey, he’s a complete original. Steven Tyler called him the “perfect entertainer.”
Thia – “Heatwave” by Martha and the Vandellas: We saw the youngest contestant cut loose during her performance, J. Lo wants her to dig even deeper next time!
Jacob – “You’re All I Need To Get By” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell: Wow, this was definitely Jacob’s night! There’s no one better to sing Motown than him and all the judges agreed that he delivered a perfect 10! Steven Tyler even jumped up on stage to give him a hug, followed by the whole front row!
Lauren – “You Keep Me Hanging On” by The Supremes: Jacob was one tough act to follow, but country girl Lauren held her own delivering one of her best performances so far.
Stefano – “Hello” by Lionel Richie: He has the look, the voice, but what the judges said Stefano was missing was the connection and feeling in his performance.
Haley – “You Really Got A Hold On Me” by Smokey Robinson: She was in the bottom three last week, and I fear she might be headed there again this week. Steven was the only one who liked her performance calling her “a day over fabulous.”
Scotty – “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder: This country boy put his own little twang on this classic Motown hit giving the judges chills hitting those low notes.
Pia – “All In Love Is Fair” by Stevie Wonder: Another ballad from this star. Steven said she’s the biggest star this season, but the other judges want to see something different from her.
Paul – “Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson: Armed with his guitar, Paul rocked a Smokey Robinson hit that will most likely keep him safe for another round.
Naima – “Dancing In The Streets” by Martha and the Vandellas: She blew the judges and audience away with her authentic African dancing and drums for a phenomenal performance!
James – “Living For The City” by Stevie Wonder: James’ breathtaking rendition of the Stevie Wonder hit left J. Lo speechless when he belted out those high notes with his Steven Tyler-esque scream.
