‘Tickets @ 2′ features a top 10 hit from Fogerty and the boys, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?” It’s not a rain song per se, but instead was [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]John Fogerty[/lastfm]‘s take on the departure of his brother Tom from the band.
The line, “I want to know — have you ever seen the rain comin’ down on a sunny day?” refers to Tom leaving while [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Creedence Clearwater Revival[/lastfm] was at its commercial zenith. The flip side is “Hey Tonight,” John reassuring the band that all would go well despite the adversity.
Tom had three solo albums before dying of tuberculosis in 1990.
On a happier note we’ll take caller #3 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) when we play it between two and three to win tickets to see The Lincoln Lawyer at a Regal Cinema near you!
