Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ song of the day is “O-O-H Child” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Five Stairsteps[/lastfm].

The group formed in Chicago in 1965 and comprised of Burke family members Clarence Jr., James, Aloha, Kenneth and Dennis. They got their name when “Momma Stairsteps” (as Betty Burke was affectionately called) noticed that her kids looked like stair steps when standing next to each other according to age.

Other artists who came along and recorded the song included Richie Havens, Daryl Hall and The Edwin Hawkins Singers.

In 2007 the song was used in a commercial for the ADHD Road Map to success kit.

It’s an amazingly uplifting song.

We’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) for Big Bear Resort lift tickets.
