In one of his recent episodes of the Dr. Oz Show, the doc reveal three effective, albeit, unusual dieting tips most have never tried before. But if weight loss is your goal, anything is worth a try!
Never short on useful diet/exercise tips, Dr. Oz shared a few unusual tactics those struggling to shred pounds should give a shot in his episode titled “The Naked Hour.”
1. Snack on Pickles: Sandwiches’ favorite topping isn’t just for pregnancy cravings anymore. Dr. Oz says the acidity in pickles reduces sugar cravings. So instead of grabbing a quick snack at the vending machine to tide you over until dinner, snack on pickles!
2. Switch Tonic Water and Club Soda for Seltzer: If you like a little bubbly to juices or are sick of drinking plain old water, Dr. Oz recommends opting for seltzer water instead of the other choices. Most think all three are similar, but they aren’t created equal; tonic is high in sugar (with about 120 calories a serving) and club soda usually has salt added, which leaves you feeling puffy and bloated after.
3. Drink banaba leaf tea: You’ve heard green tea can do wonders for the body and mind, but have you ever heard of the effects banaba leaf tea? This tea is gaining in popularity because of its powers to reduce blood sugar. High blood sugar leads to weight gain and even diabetes, so drink up on that banaba leaf tea!
