We’ve been following the legal struggles of David Cassidy’s DUI arrest back in November, and after a court hearing this morning, the former teen idol has struck a deal that helped him escape jail time.
Instead of spending time behind bars, Cassidy will only get his license revoked for the next six months, reports TMZ. Cassidy agreed to enter a no contest plea deal during his court hearing Wednesday morning, and in exchange of the plea, the star will serve one year probation, lose his license for six months and complete 50 hours of community service.
He also has to pay a $500 in fines, complete an alcohol education course, and attend a DUI “victim impact panel” where victims of drunk drivers share their stories.
Last November, Cassidy was arrested after police saw him swerving on the road and discovered a half-empty bottle of alcohol in his backseat. He is also scheduled to appear on the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice.
