Aretha Franklin Loved Her GRAMMY Tribute
It was the powerful opener to the 53rd Annual GRAMMYs on Sunday, and while many fans were blown away from the five exceptional voices of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jennifer Hudson[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Yolanda Adams[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Florence Welch[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Martina McBride[/lastfm], what did Aretha think of the tribute covers of her classic songs?
The Queen of Soul apparently loved the entire performance, and addressed each of the performers personally on her Facebook page!
Though she was not present at the ceremony, Aretha Franklin watched the special tribute to her music during the broadcast, and loved what the singers did!
She wrote on her Facebook, “I LOVED it! The ladies all sounded so wonderful and they looked fabulous! All of them were dressed to the nines! I enjoyed each and every performance, especially Yolanda Adams doing ‘Spirit In The Dark’ and Christina Aguilera’s rendition of ‘Ain’t No Way’, Loved them all! ‘They all looked beautiful, I really liked Jennifer Hudson’s outfit, those epaulettes on her shoulder pads were too sharp! Bravo ladies!!!”
That’s certainly high praise coming from Queen of Soul herself, and we happen to agree with Aretha! Rewatch their spectacular GRAMMY performance below:
