The original incarnation of the Rat Pack was not actually Sinatra, Dean, and Davis but a group of friends centered around Humphrey Bogart and his wife (and “Pack Mother”) Lauren Bacall, including David Niven, Sid Luft, Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra, and a number of other Hollywood stars of the era. Legend has it that the “Rat Pack” moniker was born when Bacall caught Bogey and his friends coming home late after a long night out in Las Vegas and said, “You look like a ******* rat pack!”

However, the group most people know as the Rat Pack today consists of [lastfm]Frank Sinatra[/lastfm], [lastfm]Dean Martin[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Sammy Davis Jr.[/lastfm], [lastfm]Joey Bishop[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Peter Lawford[/lastfm]. This new release from core members Sinatra, Davis and Dean features many of their classic tunes, like Sinatra highlights “Come Fly With Me” and “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” Dean’s suave “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head” and “You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Loves You,” as well as Davis’ swinging “Too Close For Comfort” and “A Lot of Living To Do.”

The Rat Pack were more than just singers, though. They often acted together in movies, most famously in the original version of Ocean’s 11. The Pack members were the definition of cool during their era and today remain iconic American performers. These tracks will be nothing new to longtime fans, but they serve as a great introduction point for anyone looking to step into the world of these fantastic singers–or for simply an assembly of some of the Rat Pack’s best songs.

The “Rat Pack”; three of the greatest “crooners” that ever lived and three of my mother’s favorite singers. I remember fondly, her playing their music over the years as I was growing up. I love hearing those old songs again, over and over; doing so has enabled me to help put my past behind even help pursue my dreams (keeping me motivated and reflecting on the past in a more positive light).

“SEND ME THE PILLOW THAT YOU DREAM ON” on day Fiona, so that “darlin I can dream on it too because each night while I’m sleepin oh so lonely in dreams I’ll share my love that once was mine. So, send me the pillow that you dream on Fiona dear, so darlin I can dream on it too…..yada, yada, yada!”
Great Song!! One day she will send me the pillow that I sent her.

Miss you my little jerk chicken!
LOVE, your pookypants and studmuffin from THE RED GREEN SHOW)

Thanks KEARTH 101 for that great music; love that song “SEND ME THE PILLOW THAT YOU DREAM ON” and “EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY SOMETIMES” (both from childhood).
