For the first [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Who[/lastfm] gig in nearly a year, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Roger Daltrey[/lastfm] and company took the stage in order to raise money for a cause near and dear to their heart: Cancer research.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Who[/lastfm] also got some help from some pretty talented friends, as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jeff Beck[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Debbie Harry[/lastfm] of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blondie[/lastfm] joined the rock legends.

Daltrey had his own cancer scare last year, which came to light right before the band took the stage for the 2010 Super Bowl.

“Suddenly my voice wasn’t behaving in the normal way. It was becoming hard work to sing,” Daltrey said.

While in preparation for the halftime show, Daltrey underwent surgery in Dec. 2009 to successfully remove a precancerous growth on a vocal chord.

There are no plans yet for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Who[/lastfm] to tour in 2011.

Good for Jeff Beck and Roger Daltry; my mother past away of cancer a little over 10 years ago, so I know what its like to have someone suffer like that. Great for Daltry and Michael Douglas for overcoming their adversity like that.

I remember Debbie Harry and her Blondie days with hits like, “The Tide is High”, “Heart of Glass”, “One Way or Another”, just to name a few. Great music on this clip!
