Comedian/actor/author/banjo player [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Steve Martin[/lastfm] has recorded the followup to his 2009 Grammy-winning bluegrass album The Crow. And to do so, he got by with a little bit of help from … Sir [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paul McCartney[/lastfm]!

The former Beatle joined Martin in the studio, and while both are superstars, Martin still admitted to being a bit starstruck.

“It’s very hard to believe,” Martin said. “I was a kid when I first heard Paul McCartney, and if you told me one day that he’d be singing one of my tunes, I’m still flabbergasted.”

The [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dixie Chicks[/lastfm] also help out on the 14-track LP, entitled Rare Bird Alert and due for stores in March.

Most importantly, one of those 14 tracks will be a live version of everyone’s favorite [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Steve Martin[/lastfm] song … “King Tut”!

Which of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Steve Martin[/lastfm]’s careers do you like best? As an actor? Comedian? Or banjo-player?
