Michael Douglas is cancer free for now. The Wall Street star says he is cured and feels good, but still has to get monthly check ups for the next three years. Happily, Michael has already put back 12 pounds of the 32 he lost and is working on building up his muscle mass he lost during treatment.

After weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the actor announced the great news to Matt Lauer on the Today Show. Even after all the treatments and surviving throat cancer, Douglas’ voice still sounds amazing, hear for yourself in the clip below!

Now that he’s beaten the cancer, Douglas is working on shooting his new movie where he plays the iconic Liberace in the movie of the same name!

Way to go Mike!! I would see the movie “Liberace” when that comes out (“bring the candlelabra to mother George”–Bugs Bunny as Liberace). I like him as an actor (as well as his dad Kirk Douglas Sr back in movies like Spartacus, and It Runs In The FAMILY) and I wish him well to a speedy recovery. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

I also loved that picture I saw with him on the rollercoaster with his two kids; that was precious. I also read today that he actually took his kids to see some of his treatment he was getting. I say, GOOD FOR HIM for showing them the reality of cancer and what their father’s going through. They are old enough (seven and ten) and doing this helps them cope better with the situation and comprehend it more as well. GOOD JOB MIKE!

I remember trying to understand what happened to my dad when had his stroke when I was six. I remember standing bhy his hospital bed and asking him, “Is your arm going to be better?” (his entire left side was paralyzed). He said, “I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see”. I was trying to understand what a stroke was, but nobody ever explained it to me; eventually I learned it on my own.

I love stories like this where people overcome OBSTACLES and ADVERSITIES in life (no matter how famous they are). I have my own “Rainbow Ray’s 10 P’s for helping to overcoming obstacles and adversities” and it has done wonders for me.

I hope you have many more years Mike and movies (hopefully Liberace will be a good one).
