In rockstar terms, the marriage of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul Simon[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Edie Brickell[/lastfm] has lasted forever. Now, a new product (beside the couple’s three childrens) could come of the union. How about a duets album?
“We have been talking more and more, because we make these holiday MP3s to send out instead of Christmas cards,” Brickell said. “We got this idea a few years back and after having done that and hearing the sound, we thought it might be a good idea to do something like a [duets] record.”
Simon has a new solo album due out in 2011, as does Brickell, but that doesn’t mean that the duets couldn’t happen soon. Brickell said she already has ideas for how she would want the duets album to sound.
“I’d like to make them very, very simple songs that invite you to sing with them, as opposed to something elaborate or odd compositions — an old-fashion record, that sits like a quilt,” she said.
Could we dream of seeing Brickell and Simon together on a tour?
