Sad news today: singer-songwriter [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gerry Rafferty[/lastfm] has passed away. Rafferty had long battled illness and was most recently hospitalized for collapsing. According to Guardian, he died at home peacefully with his daughter Martha this morning.

The 63-year-old Scottish singer and songwriter was best know for his hits, “Baker Street,” “Stuck in the Middle With You” (recorded with his former group Stealers Wheel), and “Right Down the Line.”

    Sorry to here about Gerry’s untimely passing. I remember listening to his music growing up and “Baker Street'” is one of my personal favorite’s of his. I still have his single that I purchased when I was a kid, plus a few other singles of his, including Right Down the line. RIP Gerry, you’ll be missed.

    Sad to hear about his loss. His music is timeless and I hope KRTH plays his music in regular rotation. Also don’t forget “Days Gone Down” from 1979, a rarely heard, but wonderful upbeat song that should be played too.
