[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Lennon[/lastfm]’s white suit from Abbey Road is an iconic fixture in the mind of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beatle[/lastfm]s music lovers.

The white two-piece suit John Lennon wore on the cover of the Beatles’ “Abbey Road” album was sold at a Connecticut auction for $46,000.

While the suit’s bidder wished to remain anonymous to the  Braswell Galleries’ annual New Year’s Day auction, owner Kathy Braswell tells the Connecticut Post the holiday auction is their biggest event of the year and other Beatles memorabilia like a rusted green 1972 Chrysler station wagon Lennon and Yoko Ono owned went for $5,500.

    $46,000 for a suit! I hope the person who bought it doesn’t have to have it taken in (ha! ha!). That’s alot of money for a suit, even from a celebrity. I wonder how much an ELVIS outfit would go for if put on the auction block. I wonder!
