It was the Eagles contribution to the season, “Please Come Home for Christmas” was written in 1960 by L.A. R&B artist Charles Brown, no relation to the Godfather of  Soul, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]James Brown[/lastfm].

The Eagles’ version features Don Henley singing lead and appeared on the Christmas charts for nine consecutive season, eventually hitting #1 in 1972. Many other artists have recorded their own versions of the tune, including James Brown, B.B. King, Harry Connick Jr., Pat Benatar and many more.

Get ready to call 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) when you hear it. Good luck!
