If you’re a big [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beatles[/lastfm] collector, then Connecticut is the place to be on New Year’s Day as Braswell Galleries auctions off the suit that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]John Lennon[/lastfm] wore on the cover of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Beatles[/lastfm]‘ album Abbey Road.
The suit is one of three [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beatles[/lastfm]-related pieces up for grabs: Lennon’s blazer from the video for “Imagine” and a Chrysler station wagon once owned by Lennon and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Yoko Ono[/lastfm] will also hit the auction block.
The suit and the blazer were last up for auction in 2005 and fetched a total of $120,000, with the pieces being listed together.
There’s no truth to the rumor, however, that the auction will be run by this bartender:
The items are up for auction because their owner has come into some “economic hardship” according to the auction house. But how much hardship would you be willing to endure to own these pieces of history?
