Today, be listening for “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm] as the Tickets @ Two song for the day!

The Yellow Brick Road is an image taken from the movie The Wizard of Oz. In the movie, Dorothy and her friend follow the yellow brick road in search of the magical Wizard of Oz, only to find they had what they were looking for all along.

Elton and his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin went to Jamaica to record the song for an album, but the studio was so horrible that the project was abandoned there and finished at Strawberry Studios in France.

In 2008, Ben & Jerry’s created a flavor of ice cream in honor of Elton called “Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road.” Made from chocolate chunks, it was created to commemorate Elton’s first concert in Vermont, home of the ice cream makers.

Be caller # 6 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) when you hear it play between two and three this afternoon for a family four-pack of passes to Big Bear Mountain Resort! Hope to talk to you then.
