What better tribute could [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] pay to his ex-bandmate and best friend,[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] John Lennon[/lastfm], than performing his iconic song, “Give Peace A Chance,” on Saturday Night Live almost exactly thirty years after his untimely and tragic death?

While Paul McCartney did sing his Wings classics “Jet” and “Band on the Run,” McCartney also did a Beatles’ “A Day in the Life” mash-up that segued into a version of Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance.”
