‘Tickets @ Two’ has a party flavor to it, it’s “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffett.

I met Jimmy at the then named Universal Amphitheatre in ’77, because I knew the Record Company rep, who took me backstage for a personal meet and greet.

I was into sailing at the time and subscribed to a boating magazine that had classified ads in the back pages. While thumbing through the magazine, I noticed a photo of a 43 foot Choy Lee sailing yacht that listed the boat as “Jimmy Buffets Boat for sale.”

So when meeting him I asked why he was selling his boat? He said:”I’m buying a tour bus.” So I said: “Your getting out of sailing?” He said no that he still had a smaller sailboat. I met him again a few years later and asked how the Tour Bus was doing? He said:”I sold it and bought another Choy Lee ’43. Now thats a true sailor talking. Since then he’s opened a resort hotel, a chain of restaurant/bars named “Margaritaville,” and flys his own biplane over Key West.

When we play “Margaritaville” between two and three this afternoon be caller # 12 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) and you’ll win a pair of tickets to Pacific Symphony’s Andy Williams Christmas show.
