Irish rocker [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bob Geldof[/lastfm] is best known as a humanitarian, the man who helped establish Live Aid in 1985 and Live 8 in 2005, drawing attention to the plight of the African continent.
He also, however, unleashed two of the biggest musical horrors on this planet.
Geldof is responsible for both “We Are The World” and “Do They Know It’s Christmas,” two songs that are well meaning – both were for charity – but, as he says, terrible.
“I am responsible for two of the worst songs in history. [One is] ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ The other one is ‘We Are The World,’ he said. “Any day soon, I will go to the supermarket, head to the meat counter and it will be playing. Every [expletive] Christmas.”
We don’t know about that, though. The worst songs ever? Really?
Okay. Maybe so.
Still, we can think of a couple more. Remember when [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paula Abdul[/lastfm] rapped with a cartoon cat?
Or when [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Hanson[/lastfm] decided that choruses were for suckers?
What do you think is the real “worst song of all time?”
