Did You Know: David Bowie's "Let's Dance"
“Let’s Dance” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm] is today’s ‘Tickets @ Two’ song to listen for between two and three. Released as the title track from his 1983 album Let’s Dance, the song became one of Bowie’s most notable and biggest-selling tracks of his career.
Bowie’s hit was produced by Nile Rodgers, who gave the song a funky sound that was something different for Bowie. Rodgers founded the Disco band [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chic[/lastfm] and produced hits for Diana Ross, including “Upside Down” and “I’m Coming Out.” He also produced [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Madonna[/lastfm]’s 1985 album Like a Virgin.
David invited [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Stevie Ray Vaughn[/lastfm] to play lead guitar on the track. It was a #1 hit on both sides of the ocean.
Caller # 12 wins a ‘pair’ of tickets to see [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Leslie Uggams[/lastfm] in “Uptown, Downtown,” at the Pasadena Playhouse. Good luck, 1-800-232-KRTH (5784)
