The Beatles Already Topping The Charts on iTunes

It’s only been a day since the full Beatles catalogue has been available for (legal) download on iTunes, and digital “Beatlemania” is already taking over the charts as the top downloaded music.

Where do their albums and singles stand on the chart after one day? Gary and Lisa broke down the Beatles’ chart position on iTunes this morning on CBS 2.

After hints and teasers that Tuesday will be “just another day. That you’ll never forget” and waking up to find that after years of legal battles with their record label, the Beatles’ music is finally available for download on iTunes! It was a huge surprise for Beatles fans everywhere, and the response definitely made an impact on the iTunes charts.

The Beatles have already taken over the top 10 most downloaded albums with chart positions at 6. Abbey Road; 8. The Beatles (White Album); and 9. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The rest of their albums followed just below at 12. Box set; 15. 1967-1970. 18. 1962-1966; 19. Rubber Soul; 20. Magical Mystery Tour; 21. Revolver; 25.Let It Be; 27. A Hard Day’s Night; 28. Please Please Me; 30. Help!; 32. With the Beatles; 35. Past Masters Vol. 1 & 2; 39. Beatles For Sale; 48. Yellow Submarine.

Individual songs cracking the top 200 include a George Harrison hit leading the bunch at 21. “Here Comes the Sun”; 28. “Let It Be”; 30. “In My Life”; 36. “Blackbird”; 40. “Come Together”; 57. “Hey Jude”; 60. “With a Little Help From My Friends.”
